Everything here is from the October 2026 demo (and the spring Beta where marked). Early Access on Nov 3 may change numbers — we’ll re-check on launch day.
Controls (PC)
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Hold R | Tool wheel — hover to pick a tool; left-click a slot to add seeds/items from your inventory |
| Tap R | Cycle the tools/seeds already on the wheel |
| E | Interact / collect. On another player: friend request, message, group invite |
| Tab | Inventory (materials, crops, fragments) |
| B | Main menu / decorate |
| V | Guest Permissions for your island |
| M | Map — right-click to place a marker |
| P | Change appearance (face, hair, makeup) |
| Shift | Sprint (a “toggle sprint” option exists) |
| Space in mid-air | Open the glider (once crafted) |
Full controller support; in the demo, the settings menu needed the D-pad. Settings let you turn off camera shake (helps motion sickness), make tools and wheels toggle instead of hold, and slow mini-games.
Opening quest order (demo)
- Pebble (chinchilla guide) — “A Fresh Start” and the City Tour. If the tour gets stuck, talk to Pebble again to resume.
- Milo — collect screws and plastic (Scrap Quarter), clay (Construction Site), scrap wire (Solar Farm) → get the Project Station → craft a hammer (2 energy per hit), then a watering can.
- Hot-air balloon to the Player Neighborhood — your island (house, shipping bin, vending machine). Entering it unlocks the Demo Banner.
- Hazel — garden bed + lettuce seeds. Plant, water, harvest, put crops in the shipping bin for Dew. The first seeds are Dr. Marie’s fast-growing ones; regular seeds take longer.
- Kun — build a Cooking Station (metal scraps), cook Carrot Soup (timing mini-game: stop in the good zone, avoid red).
- Amani — Building Permits raise limits on garden beds and other placeables; quest “Ready to Rumble” asks for skill levels.
- Cliff — glider blueprint (glass cullets, straw, rubber; made at the Refining Station).
- Ryder — Adventures with Scrambled Coordinates — see Scrambled Coordinates & Adventures.
The demo ended just before the Hanging Gardens with Herb; Early Access continues the story there.

Tips players wish they knew
- Protect your crops: press V and switch harvesting off for visitors; players reported crop “stealing” in the demo. Leave watering on if you want help.
- Open the Daily Goodies Chest (behind the hot-air balloon) every day — free seeds and items; after Ryder’s intro Adventure it also gives Bloom and Scrambled Coordinates.
- Watch your battery — hammering, refining, cooking and some placing all cost charges. Build a second solar panel early. See energy & battery.
- Water twice: each crop shows a timer for growth and its next watering; crops that run dry stop growing. Refill the can at a Rain Collector.
- Check quests before shipping everything: crops are also needed for cooking, donations and NPC “inspiration” (Linda’s clothes, Estella’s furniture).
- Talk to every NPC — each has side quests. Who’s who: NPCs.
- Quick Dew: wild berries + sugar (5 Dew from Kun) → smoothie that sells for 20. More in how to make Dew.
- Falling off an island or into water just teleports you back.
- Stuck in an Adventure? Use “Teleport to Start”.
